簡介：

Based on the classic fiction of Kenji Miyazawa, Night on the Milky Way Train with the raven reputation for nine years in Tokyo, is exclusively premiere in 2017 Tainan Arts Festival. This international production involving Nouso Masao’s team from Japan, Department of Drama Creation and Application from National University of Tainan, local theatre companies and citizen in Tainan, will present this musical reader’s theatre of rich imagination.

What is one’s expecting for being “Happy”?
Wealth, fame, or power?
In the boundless universe, Kenji Miyazawa starts the fascinating journey to the milky way, guiding the audience discovering the answer for one’s own.

In the journey, Giovanni and Campanella met people from all walks of life; from the scene outside the window, the passengers on the train, the mysterious bird-catcher, and geologists, they came to realize the real meaning for being “Happy”.

The train is now about to approach, please ready to board.

As the debut of the script in Taiwan, Department of Drama Creation and Application, National University of Tainan, invites J. F. Oberlin University and Japanese designers and dancers, connecting local theatre artist and citizens, aiming to present a festival of people in Tainan. 2 musicians and 24 actors from auditions, aging from 12 to 58, will present various aspects of life in the performance.

號召日本團隊、南大戲劇系及臺南在地居民攜手共創全民藝術節。

人，終其一生，都在追尋著幸福，
但，真正的幸福，是什麼呢？
是家財萬貫？聲名遠播？還是位高權重？
或許，宮澤賢治在這浩瀚的宇宙中，
會引領我們進入奇幻的銀河鐵道之夜找尋答案。

在這趟旅程中，喬凡尼與卡帕內拉藉由所遇到的人事物，
如同小王子離開B612行星來到地球般，
透過窗外的景色、列車上的乘客、神秘的捕鳥人、鑽研地質的大學士，
從與他們的對話，體悟到真正的幸福。
這班夢幻列車即將進站，請準備上車。

本劇首度在臺搬演，由臺南大學戲劇創作與應用學系承辦、日本櫻美林大學協辦，邀請日本設計團隊與舞者，結合臺南劇場藝術家，與在地居民聯手打造，共創真正屬於臺南的全民藝術節。演出現場由24名演員與樂手姜建興、蔡丁曉婷同臺演出。演員徵選近120人報名參加，高手如雲，競爭激烈；導演分7梯次徵選，經複選遴選出23名優秀演員，年齡層橫跨12歲至58歲，呈現不同的生命情懷。
